Senior DevOps / SRE Engineer (Cloud, AWS)

An established and growing software company is building a new cloud-native SaaS product in AWS and is looking for a Senior DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer to help define and scale its platform.

This is a hands-on role within a small product engineering team, focused on building the DevOps/SRE foundations rather than operating an existing large-scale system. There is no dedicated Ops/SRE team yet, so you will play a key role in shaping tooling, processes, and best practices.

The Role

• Design and evolve AWS infrastructure for a cloud SaaS platform

• Define and implement Infrastructure as Code, observability, and reliability standards

• Work closely with software engineers to improve deployment, monitoring, and security practices

• Help build a secure, scalable platform to support the launch of a new cybersecurity product

• Act as a driver of change in a small, collaborative engineering environment

Required Experience

• 3+ years in a DevOps, SRE, or similar role

• Strong experience with AWS, containers, and Kubernetes

• Hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or similar)

• Experience supporting Java-based applications

• Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (e.g. Datadog, Grafana)

• Solid understanding of secure software development practices

• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently

Nice to Have

• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Elasticsearch)

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions)

• Knowledge of cloud security and security tooling

• Experience with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR)

• Previous leadership or team-enablement experience
